I'm Michael K. McDowell — the filmmaker behind MKM Studios in Windsor, Ontario. Wedding days are personal and intimate — and bringing someone in to film them is a real act of trust. You're inviting me into the heart of it, to spend the day with your family, your closest friends, and the people who matter most. I'm grateful for that trust.

I've loved film for as long as I can remember. It started with watching movies with my family and realizing how powerful it is to sit together and feel something. Over the years, that love turned into a craft — and then a calling: creating films that help families hold onto what matters.

Because the truth is, time moves fast. A wedding day flies by. A film lets you return — to the voices, the laughter, the hugs, the nerves, the speeches — and to the people you love most. That's why I do what I do.

Wedding films should feel authentic — honest moments, real energy, and storytelling that brings you right back. I'm there to capture what matters most: the people you love, the emotion in the room, and the moments you don't notice until you get to relive them.

Every package includes a complimentary shoot — perfect for save-the-dates, a date night session, or something creative before or after the wedding.

If we do it before your day, it also gives us a chance to connect so you feel comfortable and natural on camera.

THE STORYBOOK
$ 6,750 + HST

The full storytelling experience — deeper coverage, more perspective, and a documentary cut that lets you truly relive the day. If you want the whole story, this is it.

A FEW IMPORTANT NOTES

  • Raw / unedited camera footage is not offered. MKM Studios delivers finished films — edited, colour-graded, and mixed so everything feels cohesive and true to the day.
  • Film lengths are guided by the story — every wedding has a different rhythm, and your film is cut to match it.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

  1. Inquiry + Date Check

    Send your date, venue, and a few details about your day. I'll confirm availability and we'll set up a quick call.

  2. Intro Call

    A relaxed conversation to make sure we're a good fit. We'll talk vibe, priorities, what matters most to you, and what you want your film to feel like.

  3. Booking Your Date

    To officially reserve your date, you'll sign the agreement and submit your retainer. Once that's done, you're locked in.

  4. Complimentary Shoot

    Every package includes a complimentary shoot (before or after the wedding). If we do it beforehand, it's a great chance to get comfortable on camera and build a rhythm together before the big day.

  5. Planning Questionnaire + Final Details

    As your wedding gets closer, you'll fill out a planning questionnaire so I can learn the story behind the day: timeline, locations, family dynamics, meaningful moments, and anything you want captured intentionally.

    We'll also confirm ceremony audio, speeches, and any special events/traditions.

  6. Final Check-In (and rehearsal, if it makes sense)

    We'll do a final touchpoint to confirm the timeline, addresses, and any last-minute changes. If you're having a rehearsal and it's helpful for timing, audio, or logistics, I can attend — it isn't required, but it can be a great way to make the wedding day feel even smoother.

  7. Wedding Day

    I show up calm, prepared, and story-focused — capturing the big moments and the in-between ones that make it all feel real.

  8. Editing + Preview

    Your films are edited with intention: pacing, colour, audio, and professionally licensed music chosen to match the tone of your day.

    When your film is ready, you'll receive a private preview link first.

  9. Final Delivery

    After the preview is approved, you'll receive final delivery via digital download plus a USB copy for safe keeping.

COMMUNICATION

No barriers — reach out in whatever way is easiest: email, text, call, or voice note. I'll reply in a timely manner and keep things simple.

PAYMENT STRUCTURE

  • Retainer: 30% at booking (reserves your date)
  • Second payment: 40% due 60 days before the wedding
  • Final payment: 30% due 14 days before the wedding
